“Indagine sul cinema del brivido” a Firenze

toomi — Sun, 12 May 2013 19:00:08 +0000

On may 15th we will be in Florence for a special concert that will see us on stage at Teatro della Pergola with many guests to celebrate the music of one of the kinds of worship of the Italian cinema of the seventies: “The cinema of the thrill”. During the concert we will perform a vast repertoire taken from soundtracks composed by greatest Maestros such as Morricone and Ferrio for Dario Argento’s and Lamberto Bava’s movies. For the occasion we will be joined on stage by Sebastiano De Gennaro on percussions, Vincenzo Vasi on theremin player, Serena Altavilla on vocals and there will be string and brass sections too. See you there!

Speaking Portuguese in Brazil and Lisboa

toomi — Mon, 01 Apr 2013 23:27:47 +0000

So we’ve been to Brazil for the very first time… AMAZING!

We’ve been invited to play at Nublu Jazz Festival in Ribeirao Preto and Sao Paulo, sharing stage with jazz funk legends Roy Ayers, The Headhunters and new jazz projects Robert Glasper’s Experience and Ilhan Ersahin’s Love Trio.

Venues were great (SESC Ribeirao Preto and SESC Belezinho), organization top notch (thanks Paulo, thanks Yara, thanks everybody) and the whole festival was really good. We had lot of fun, great churrascos, two good shows (being a little bit rustier and jet lagged on the first night but perfectly on shape for the second one) and two days off that we really enjoyed.

Looking forward to be back soon.

Then we flew back to Europe to play at the closing party of the 6th Festa do Cinema Italiano in Lisboa, Portugal. This year the 8 days long festival had a section dedicated to Polizieschi and Spaghetti Western Movie, screening quite a few important vintage flicks and the very comprehensive “Eurocrime” documentary (by american director Mike Malloy) we did the soundtrack for.

Again organization was great with Cristina and Stefano taking care of us very nicely, walking us around the city, offering Pastel de Nata (local custard based pastry) and ginjinha shots (local sour cherry liquor).

We played a very long set at Teatro de Bairro Alto and we ended up going back to the hotel at 5 o’ clock in the morning… not bad when you have a flight bringing you to Basel only 4 hours later

It was a shame we had to leave, very few cities are as fascinating as Lisbon!

SAID Original Sountrack

We’re really really proud to present our first full length soundtrack for the italian movie “SAID” directed by Joseph Lefevre.

Soundtrack will be released on vinyl by Tannen Records on Record Store Day (April 20th) while movie will be available on streaming for free on April 19th.

Enjoy the trailer!
